Home away from home

Finally made it up into Do Ho Suh's "Fallen Star." It's a truly dizzying experience, not only perched on a precarious angle on a high ledge of an Engineering building, but with walls not perpendicular to floor.

Deepening the powerful physical disorientation, it's cosily furnished like someone's house, with old furniture, family heirlooms, photos, children's drawings, clutter... It feels like trespassing in a real home,

at least until you look out the window! A curator explained it was about the dizzying experiences of dislocation and relocation which are so much a part of modern lives. It left me feeling off-balance for hours.
