Happened on a New School colleague as I was walking down to the Del Mar Starbucks this morning - so improbable a meeting we nearly walked past each other in disbelief. We checked out the Salk Institute (closed) and some of the sculptures at UCSD. In Nam June Paik's "Something Pacific," around the media center, I hadn't noticed that the pint-sized "Thinker" is perched atop a hand-held TV!
